Upcoming Broadband Price Changes – Effective 1 January 2026

Kia ora,

We’re writing to let you know about upcoming adjustments to our broadband pricing. All wholesale fibre providers across Aotearoa have increased their prices on almost every product this year. The only exception is the Chorus Hyperfibre 8000/8000 service, which has decreased in price.

Throughout 2025, Faro Internet absorbed all wholesale increases, so our customers didn’t feel the impact. However, a new round of wholesale price rises will take effect from January 2026, and this has triggered a full review of our own pricing. Unfortunately, it’s no longer practical for us to continue absorbing these rising costs, so we need to update our prices to keep the service sustainable.

We have kept the adjustments as small as possible—only to the level required to ensure we can continue delivering a reliable, high-quality service.
Our updated prices are now live on our website and will take effect from 1 January 2026.

Key Changes

1. New Setup Fee

A one-off setup fee equal to one month of your subscription will now be required when signing up.

  • This fee is fully refundable until the day your connection goes live.
  • After the connection date, it becomes non-refundable.
  • Your 14-day, no-questions-asked subscription warranty remains unchanged — if you cancel within the first 14 days of service, your monthly subscription fee will be refunded.

2. Public Static IP is Still Free

We continue to provide a public static IP address at no extra charge on all fibre plans. This remains part of our commitment to fair, transparent services without unnecessary surcharges.

3. Regional Fibre Surcharges (Hyperfibre & Business-Grade Only)

If you’re on a Hyperfibre or business-grade service delivered through one of the following Local Fibre Companies (LFCs), a small surcharge will apply to both the setup fee and the monthly subscription.

Tuatahi First Fibre (Hamilton, Whanganui, Tokoroa, New Plymouth)
+ $5 per month (and +$5 added to the setup fee)

Enable Networks (Christchurch)
+ $10 to $30 per month depending on the product
→ Same amount added to the setup fee

Northpower Fibre (Whangārei)
+ $16 to $25 per month depending on the product
→ Same amount added to the setup fee

These surcharges directly reflect the higher wholesale costs charged by each regional provider. We do not add any margin on top of these amounts.
